Scott Disick Weight Loss: How Mounjaro and Healthy Eating Helped

While Scott Disick has often been in the spotlight because of his relationship with the Kardashians, he’s also been generating buzz for his health. Recently, the reality TV star, who’s been open about his health struggles, debuted a weight loss transformation that has fans wondering how he did it. Although he hasn’t shared much about his diet or exercise routine, he did reveal the unhealthy habits that he’s given up. Keep reading to learn more about Scott Disick’s weight loss and how the right swaps can make a significant difference.

Scott Disick kick-started his weight loss with Mounjaro

In an episode of The Kardashians that aired on Hulu on February 27, it was revealed that Disick is taking Mounjaro for weight loss. At first, Disick appeared shocked that his use of weight loss medication aired on national TV because he didn’t realize it was in the fridge, but later told Khloé Kardashian, “By the way, I’m not embarrassed that I took it!”

Mounjaro (tirzepatide in its generic form) is similar to Ozempic, which is used to treat type 2 diabetes and aid in weight loss. It’s unclear how long Disick has been using the drug, but it noticeably helped shift his diet in a healthier direction.

Even though weight loss drugs like Mounjaro can be effective, Jennifer Habashy, NMD, MS, assistant medical director at Claya, says it’s essential to remember that no medication replaces the foundation of good health—real, nutrient-dense food, mindful movement and metabolic support.

She adds that “Mounjaro can be a great jumpstart for those struggling with insulin resistance, but long-term success depends on addressing the root causes of weight gain,” meaning unhealthy lifestyle habits.

Scott Disick’s weight loss journey wasn’t easy

Disick said he began his weight loss journey in 2023 when he noticed his weight gain affected various parts of his life. He also hoped to overhaul his sedentary lifestyle, which resulted from a car accident in 2022.

The Flip It Like Disick alum experienced back pain from the accident, saying he was “barely mobile” at times. “Since the car accident, everything has changed,” Disick explained in a 2023 episode of The Kardashians. “I haven’t been able to run around, I’ve gained weight.”

Dr. Habashy says it’s understandable that an injury like that would hinder weight loss progress. “Injuries can lead to inflammation, limited mobility and muscle loss, making weight management more challenging.”

He cleaned up his unhealthy diet

In addition to being immobile for a while, Disick also knew he needed to change his poor eating habits. Post-accident, Disick was  “pounding a whole box” of Hawaiian rolls every night.

“I had no idea how horrible it was,” he recounted on an episode of The Kardashians in 2024. “I loved them, but I didn’t realize what I was doing.” And his beverage of choice didn’t help, either, since he washed the rolls down with ginger ale. “All day, I would drink gingers,” he told Kris Jenner. “I was going through 20 gingers a day.”

That’s a problem when it comes to weight loss, since Dr. Habashy says both Hawaiian rolls and ginger ale can spike blood sugar, leading to cravings and energy crashes.

Rather than cutting out bread or soda entirely, Dr. Habashy recommends healthy food swaps that can promote long-term weight loss. For example, try sourdough or spotted grain bread instead of Hawaiian rolls, as they’re better for blood sugar and easier to digest. You can also drink sparkling water with fresh ginger and lemon to help soothe your gut instead of sugary sodas.

Disick is still following a healthy lifestyle

While Disick never revealed how much weight he had lost (or gained), he did tell Khloé that he was almost at his goal weight in 2024, with “maybe three more pounds to go.” She also told him he looked “amazing.”

Dr. Habashy says, “The most important thing to remember is that everyone’s needs are unique regarding weight loss. What works for one person won’t necessarily work for another.” She recommends focusing on the foundational principles of health, which include supporting gut health, optimizing sleep, regulating blood sugar and staying hydrated rather than chasing quick fixes.
